The collection comprises the personal archives of actress Iustina Minkova, who joined the theater at its inception, and Solomon Zilberblatt, who joined in the early 1920’s. It includes over 150 photographs of actors in costume and make-up, costume and stage design (including Chagall’s stage design work), theater troupe photographs taken during international tours and other events. The collection features Solomon Mikhoels, as an actor, as the theater’s director, as well as a leader of the anti-fascist Jewish Committee during WWII. Additional highlights include hand-written memos, travel documents from the company’s 1928 international tour, performance media reviews (domestic and international), and administration/accounting documents.
