The holdings are an eclectic collection of documents, leaflets, and postcards that reflect Russian state policy mandated upon the Jewish community, issues and events of importance within the Jewish community, and individual experiences from the mid-19th through the early 20th century.
The collection was assembled from various auctions and dealer shows, mostly in Germany, England, France, and the United States, and acquired by the Blavatnik Archive in 2004–2005 from an anonymous ephemera dealer.
